Team Members

The Fight Team now has over a dozen members, including five ladies. Our ages range from 16 to 40 (almost!). We have engineers, healthcare workers, waitresses, students, historians, actors, sales assistants and charity administrators in the mix.

But Team Falchion is not just about the Falchion Fight Display Team (although it has to be acknowledged, it is the main activity). We also have associate members who can bring other skills, experience and interest to the overall team. Rhonda makes and sells bead jewellery, which proves very popular, and Nadine provides a children's face-painting service. About half the team can play some kind of period musical instrument (recorders, pennywhistles, tabor, bodhrain, mandolin), there are two experienced leatherworkers, and four or five Team members know their way around a sewing machine (including one professionally-trained seamstress). Clare is also a damn fine folk singer.

We also have a lecturer, and have performed non-combat demonstrations of arming a Knight, given talks on the various weaponry and their development, and general education on the life and times of a fourteenth century knight.

So we're a diverse group, united by our love of medieval history and pageantry, and also by our desire to knock lumps out of our friends.
