![]() Welcome to the 2005 seasonTeam Falchion is the overall group name of around two dozen enthusiasts with an interest in the medieval fighting arts, and the medieval period in general. Our goal is to re-create in some small measure, those exciting and dangerous times, for the benefit and education of both the general public, and ourselves. Not only do we continue to improve on our fine reputation as tournament combat demonstrators, but for 2005, we now portray a campaign camp of the 1340's. A Living History exhibit helps to bind together and encompass the arena and battlefield combat displays we have been presenting for the past 3 years. It also helps the visual appeal of our group, and is a focus for research on the life and times of 14th century people. Our camp represents the immediate retinue of Sir Nicholas de Cantilupe, the real-life Baron of Greasley and Ilkeston, who lived during the reigns of Edward II and Edward III. Sir Nicholas was an accomplished soldier, statesman, judge and member of parliament, as well as being a confidante of King Edward III. Our mission statementThe Falchion Fight Team is a group dedicated to the furtherance of knowledge of European Medieval Martial Arts. The Team will pursue this through a regime of research, training and public display of the skills gained with the Team. Team Falchion is a member group of An Early Medieval Alliance.
