BATTLE SHIPS
Ever wanted to play BattleShips but had no mates
to play it with? no? ah well, play it anyway.
Welcome to the BattleShips homepage. BattleShips was programmed
using DarkBasic (blame them for any
run-time errors) by me, Nick Forrington.
Head on over to the download page to get yourself
a copy.
Trouble Shooting:
If you get an error, the problem could be one of two things.
- If the program does not start at all it is likely that you do not have Direct
X 7.0a or above. You can solve this by visiting the Direct X website and downloading the latest version.
- If the program quits when you load the intro movie then you do not have an appropriate decompressor to play the intro movie (Run time error 56). If this occurs the easiest way to fix this is to hold down the return key and the space bar during the first intro. This will skip the loading of the intro movie allowing you to play the game. (This can also be used to skip the movie before it loads.) To skip the intro everytime the program loads create a file called "skipintro.txt" in the same folder as the game.
