World kiss

What’s this world without your kiss?

Hand to phone as a glimpse of your prado hair
through the portico
and solution dyed suits

Drop stitch agent
down beat over some wrangle or other
door ajar,
I blink;
thick leads and light
flood the room
A violent forearm, a lightning arc
gather puckered oaky plumes
and hover over the wet grass and the schedule.

And then it’s all smiles as we acknowledge each other.

What’s this kiss without you?

“I can’t keep taking it and smiling that big Texas smile.”
A hurried wheeze 5 minutes before time.

“I know - you can’t keep smiling and looking at the lens.”
A reply - albeit a hurried wheeze -
and not before time.

You can’t keep talking and smiling,
though many have tried.
Silent this time, filling the dead air between us.

I touch your perfect hair,
And consider the end,
I’ve saved;
No not that, but at least enough to buy mine back
and attend a day course in satin weave.

What’s this without you?
