Sonnet 13
Need sits her in a chair and teaches her to
plot love,
scene by scene, in the old distillery where the self contained drink and
draw
Dipping her hair in the paint and mixing media
until the door, room, chair form. And open the window -
And the agreement. Smote with a kiss lip
And the search for the colour of her.
Somewhere among the sopping dusk and wallpaper lies another airport.
Arrival as another
To the old distillery. The self contains half drunk
the search for loss, the photographs
and an agreement.
Now love sits her in a chair and teaches her to plot need,
Door, room, and the open window.
Dipping her toe in the meaning of things.
