Nick Dadd

Nick is the lead singer with the band and also plays rhythm guitar.

Nick had been singing solo for a number of years before joining the band, covering songs from the 50s and early 60s on the cabaret circuit under the stage name of Nick Dene. He says " All them years out there on my own, I used to dream about finding some other people who were interested enough in the music I loved to form a band with. It was well worth the wait. The lads are great and we all love what we do. It's probably true to say we were all in the same boat, waiting for the right opportunity and the right people to come along. Now it's finally happened we ain't about to let it go."

Nick was born and bred in Luton and has been a major Elvis fan since he was about 7 years old. Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly and Billy Fury are other major influences. He says" I tend to lean towards the singer/songwriters. It's good to study their music, see how they put the songs together and try and find the one thing in a song that sets it apart and makes it a classic. By doing this it will hopefully help me develop my own song writing further". Nick has wrote a number of songs for the band including half a dozen or so that feature on the Album 'Wild At Heart', including the title track.

Nick says of the album "We're really pleased with the success of the album. It's selling worldwide, especially on downloads through iTunes and stuff. It's nice that on individual song downloads the biggest sellers are the songs I've written and we've worked on ourselves. It's encouraging me to write a bigger percentage of the songs for the next album as opposed to covers."

Nick draws his musical influences from a wide variety of artists and different genre. " I like all kinds of music. Rock'n'roll is obviously my favourite but I like to listen to rhythm and blues, old country and gospel. I like to listen to singers with big, powerful voices that cover a large range of notes. People like Roy Orbison and Andy Williams who I have seen live several times. I just like to listen and appreciate how they manipulate their voices and try and learn from that".

Of the band Nick says "I love the fact we can play the music that inspired us all to start off with and that people seem to be enjoying what we do. We feel we're improving all the time and the feedback we get from the fans seems to back that up. That's what makes it all worthwhile. As long as they keep wanting to come and see us and listen to us, then we'll try our best to keep them happy."
