The Roofraisers began almost purely by chance. Ben and Ray got talking one night and realised they had something in common. They both loved to play rock'n'roll but had no one to practice with.

For a time they got together and practiced in Ray's attic, (hence the inspiration for the band's name), and at some point invited Martin along to join in. Then there were three.

Finally deciding it was time to add a singer the lads got hold of Nick after seeing him at a solo gig, and asked if he was interested.

It was on a Sunday morning in October 2005 in a back room at the Royal Naval Club, Luton where The Roofraisers first came into being.

Early rehearsals took place here until the band moved to it's now permanent rehearsal home at the Greenbank Music Village in Luton.
