Antonov An-225 Mryia
The An-225 is one of the largest aircraft to ever fly and certainly the biggest I have seen. It was developed
to transport the Soviet Union's space shuttle - the Buran. It is an enlarged Antonov An-124 with wing
root inserts supporting two further engines, and a twin tail assembly to cater for the Buran and other outside
loads carried dorsally. This magnificent aircraft was present at the 1990 Farnborough airshow where I was
lucky enough to get these photographs.
