Collared Dove

At first glance these are rather sedate birds with their bobbing heads and gentle ‘cooing’. They do though get quite bossy with each other at times, chasing one another from comfortable perches. You hardly see them chase other species and often share the same feeding stations. We have up to a dozen of them at a time in the garden. They do consume quite a lot, but at least these eat the corn in the seed mixes that other birds leave behind.
