Hoopoe
A both strange and exotic looking bird which occasionally finds it�s way to this country from it�s more usual haunts in the Mediterranean. In the Summer of 2002 we had several birds found locally at Seaton Carew and South Gare over several months. These ones were all seen in Majorca, where they are more common, though still difficult to get close enough too for a decent photograph.
