These are canny little birds, quite gregarious in habit. They freely mix with other birds whilst feeding and can either be on their own or with other Chaffinches. Elsewhere I have seen them suspended upside down whilst feeding on peanuts, but in the garden they seem to prefer ground feeding with occasional forays onto the bird table. |
