Eurasian Wigeon

Eurasian Wigeon

A common visitor to the ponds in this area where they can appear in great numbers. They are immediately identifiable by the bright yellow thumbprint on their foreheads on an otherwise chestnut coloured head. They can often be seen on the grassy fields around the ponds at Saltholme often together with Teal, but are wary of disturbance by people.
