Tufted Duck |
|
Quite engaging little diving ducks, by far the greatest in number of any bird on Cowpen Pond where they reside throughout the year. Their naming obviously comes from the tuft on the back of their heads which can vary in length quite considerably - we sometimes wonder if ‘size matters’. They are always to be found in groups often in with other types of duck and are quite used to the presence of humans coming within a few feet to be fed. |
