The commonest Swan roundabouts with at least a pair found on most of the freshwater ponds. They are quite bullying of the ducks that share the ponds often chasing them when catching them get hold of and drown the ducks or even rip a wing off. Last year a pair of Canada Geese gave them a run for their money after pinching the swan’s nest site after setting up home first. The Swans had to move to a new location as the Geese wouldn’t let them onto the island. Both successfully raised families. |
