Shoveler

Shoveler

Quite a common duck found on most of the local ponds where it breeds quite successfully. It’s most unusual feature being the very large bill which looks a chisel shape from the side and the end spoon shaped when seen from above. They seem to prefer the shallow margins where they search for food.
