A beautiful bird of the countryside, found everywhere but not in great numbers in this area. This one was actually photographed at Thornley Woodland feeding station in the Derwent Valley in February 2002, where apparently they are often seen. More often they are seen as pink blurs as they fly off when disturbed. |
