Definitely a social bird always appearing in great flocks and appearing to take over the garden. Some people have nothing but scorn for them, but personally I think they are quite beautiful birds, particularly with their iridescent spotted Winter plumage. They are definitely heavy feeders and always seem to be ravenously hungry, especially for any food that we put out that contains fat. |
