Robin

Robin

A beautiful little bird and one of the most welcome visitors to the garden. Whilst they are present all year round, they are particularly noticeable in the Winter due to the dazzling red chest plumage. They seem to be very much a solitary visitor as I have only ever once seen two in the garden together. Whilst they land on fence tops, they seem to be more at home on the ground in amongst the shrubs with only occasional visits onto the bird table. The one shown above has become quite friendly, settling within a few feet and will almost take food from my hand.
