They are a scarce winter visitor in these parts. This year we had an influx of several flocks into the surrounding countryside. They stayed in the area for a few weeks in December until all of the Hawthorn berries had been eaten and then left. Now only the occasional bird can be found. They are another wary bird, that are difficult to approach without disturbing. |
