Kestrel

Kestrel

Kestrels are a pretty common sight around here as they seem to be around most places. Most often they are seen along roads atop telegraph poles or street lights, whilst searching for prey. We often see them perched on electricity pylons I the fields surrounding the town. With their excellent eyesight, they are hard approach without disturbing, which makes them difficult to photograph in the wild. The photos below were taken at two Falconry Centres, a few miles away at Sion Hall and Thorp Perrow in North Yorkshire. Details are on the links page.
