A charming little diving duck, that seems to spend more time under water than it does on the surface. It swims twenty or thirty yards under water, seemingly with ease, only bob to the surface like a cork. Whilst some of the ducks on the local pond at Cowpen Bewley have become quite tame, these little ducks are quite wary and shy away from human presence. They are resident and managed to breed last year. |
