These are our favourite garden visitors. They are such exotic looking birds that are even more beautiful close up. They always arrive in flocks, their presence often preceded by their high pitched chattering. Until this winter they used to only occasionally visit the garden, but nowadays we get 20+ visiting the feeders, three or four times a day. We do provide Niger seed for them, but they mainly go for the sunflower hearts and the occasional peanut. |
