Yellowhammer

Yellowhammer
Yellowhammers are a common bird around this area and can be seen all year round, though they are far commoner in the Spring when their bright yellow heads really stand out and the song that sounds like “Little bit of bread no cheese” can be clearly heard from quite some distance away. Often they can be seen and heard whilst sat atop small bushes such as Hawthorns, making then an easy bird to spot.
