Woodthorpe Model Railway Club Layouts

The club has built layouts in O, OO and N gauges. Ensuring all our members can be kept busy, no matter where their interests lie. All these layouts will be present at our annual show.

O Gauge - Lower Budget

The club's large O gauge layout represents several stations on a preserved line (allowing the running of any stock). In the clubroom, the layout has an end-to-end run of over 90ft. For the club's annual exhibition a similar run is setup in the main exhibition hall.

The locomotive is scratchbuilt from cardboard.

A BR prairie, awaiting its next turn, stands in front of the Lower Budget signal box.
This "mini" diorama (groan) is to be found at Lower Budget Station

OO Gauge - Woodthorpe Junction

Woodthorpe Junction is a mainline station with 4 through lines. This ensures plenty of action for viewers at the show.

N Gauge - Ardley Works

This has 4 loops, 2 on the upper level, and 2 on the lower. Each level can be independently run either on analogue control, or on digital. This allows all our members to run their favourite trains.
