Report:
The Orange under 10's continued their unbeaten run in competitive football this season with a comprehensive win over Hucknall sports Red in the YEL Cup. Luke was the star of the show scoring a fantastic hat trick whilst modelling a swanky pair of new boots!
On a muddy, heavy pitch it took the Orange took some time to begin to take control over this match. Hucknall sports defended well and were able to mount attacks at the Orange goal. Propped up by a strong and determined defence it was not long before Orange did begin to take control.
Luke opened the scoring when he slooted home from just outside the box after some clever work down the wing. his second was rifled in again from just outside the box into the top left corner. The pick of his goals was the last one of the hat trick where he showed exceptional skill on the bye line and somehow managed to fire the ball home from what seemed an impossible angle.
Hucknall Sports had their chances though with shots into side netting and Dan producing a reflex save with his foot to put the ball past the post.
Aaron was on hand to tap in from close range for his goal. Elliott's goal was superbly finished when Brad set up from mid way inside half.
With the score at 2-0 Hucknall Sports had a good spell of pressure midway through the second half and looked certain to score until the terrier-like Macauley chased back to make a crucial tackle. Dan was in excellent form in goal even though he was rarely called into action. They did score with an unfortunate own goal from Ben who had an excellent game in the centre of the defence alongside Macauley.
Once Orange took control they began to spray the ball about the park and with the result never in doubt, continue their march into the next round.
