Report:
Netherfield Colts Orange maintained their 100% record with a great performance away at Clifton All Whites.
On a pitch not suited to their passing style the All Whites proved difficult to break down.
A frantic start to the game saw Orange make wave after wave of attacks on the opposition goal
but their defence showed determination and managed to hold off the early assault. Ryan, acting
in a lone striker, role performed well linking up with the midfield.
The pressure did pay off and eventually the breakthrough came when Aaron picked up a pass
from Luke and fired in a long range shot for the Orange to take the lead at half time.
Last season saw the Orange throw away a 3 goal half time lead, however, they were
determined not to let this happen again. The first minute of the second half saw Luke
make the score 2 - 0 with a superb strike from just outside the box. Harry and Hayniey
came on and did some excellent work up front and on the wing.
The All Whites almost replied from the kick off with a shot just shaving the post. Dan,
who had very little to do during the match pulled off an excellent save from a long range
shot. The defence, spearheaded by a solid Macauley, with Elliott and Ben performed in
great style cancelling out almost every attack made on the Orange goal.
As the game went on the play opened up more and shots from Brad, who hit the bar
and Macauley could have added to the tally.
Orange have not yet conceded a goal and continue their march up the table.
