Report:
Orange were back to winning ways with a comprehensive 3 - 1 win against Kimberley MW at Ley Street.
In a game of two halves Orange seemed to jump to life in the second half after a quiet first half which saw neither side manage to string more than a couple of passes together. In a slightly re-arranged formation Ryan played as a lone striker against some very physical defenders with Brad, Luke and Elliott across the midfield. Macauley and Ben propped up the team from the defence ensuring Kimberley chances were few and far between. Shots on goal were few from both teams and it was Kimberley who drew first blood with a shot just inside the box leaving Orange to chase the game again.
It was Brad who produced the equaliser with an outstanding goal. After picking the ball up in the Orange half he flicked the ball over the defenders head and dribbled through two challenges to put the ball into the net from what looked like an impossible angle. With the scores level at the interval Orange came out for the second half and looked a different team. A few minutes into the second half and Luke fired home from the edge of the box from Aaron's long throw in to give Orange a much deserved lead. Luke was also able to work some good space for Elliott who short just wide. As their confidence grew they started to spread the ball about putting together pass after pass.
Brad went just wide with a shot from Elliott's corner. Luke was unlucky when his shot went just wide after good work from Hayniey and Brad. Orange created more and more chances and Aaron was unlucky when his superb long range shot was brilliantly stopped by the keeper. Brad made it 3-1 with a strike from just outside the box beating the dive of the outstretched keeper. Macauley and Luke also went just wide with shots from just outside the box.Hayniey, who replaced Elliot, improves all the time and he was unlucky when his shot was saved after some skilful work down the left wing.
Kimberley still battled and were unlucky to grab a consolation goal when they hit the post. The result, though, was never really in any doubt and Orange can now look forward to a game against West Bridgford Lions on Sunday. If they can continue playing at their current standard there are few teams who can really compete with them.
