Report:
Although Orange suffered only their second league defeat of the season this game has to go down as one of the most entertaining, competitive and close fought games for a long time. Orange were also without any substitutes due to illness.
Priory did start the brighter, creating several chances which were all comfortably dealt with by Dan, who had another excellent game. Priory had shots just wide and Ben and Macca worked hard to keep out the Priory attackers. Orange were sometimes slow to close down the Priory attackers.
When Priory took the lead it came from a long range shot that was superbly saved by Dan only for the ball to rebound and Priory to put the ball in from close range.
Ben had a great game in defence pulling off some crunching tackles to stop any attacks. Macca was as strong as ever in support. Aaron Brad and Elliott worked very well together in midfield pulling off some nice moves and neat one- twos. Luke worked well operating as a lone striker up front.
Orange have had the habit of steeping things up a gear in the second halves this season and so it was again as Brad dribbled through and had a shot well saved from the edge of the box. Priory were still creating chances but again Dan pulled off more heroic saves diving at the feet of oncoming strikers. Orange's hard work paid off when a great team move pulled off a great equaliser. Macauley picked the ball up in defence passed to Elliott who slid the ball through to Brad who calmly rounded the keeper to finish.
The game continued at pace and Priory almost took the lead when a looped header managed to hit the post and fortunately bounce back into Dan's hands. Orange also enjoyed chances with Luke also going close from a corner. He also forced a great save from their keeper after Brad had crossed after some very skilful dribbling down the right wing.
This was to be Priory's day, however, and their winner came when a goalmouth scramble ended with them forcing the ball into the net.
Orange showed that they are one of the best footballing teams in the division and have the added bonus of playing for a place in a Cup final next week.
