Report:

After a minor setback in their League performance Orange U10s booked their place in their second semi-final in Cup competitions this season at Kimberley. Two goals from Luke after a jittery first half ensured they maintain their quest for some silverware in 2006.

Kimberley looked most likely to score twice going close with shots just wide and one just over the bar. Again, Dan produced some excellent goalkeeping to keep out Kimberley. Kimberley did take the lead, hoewever; when Dan's goal kick was intercepted and the Kimberley striker cleverly lobbed into the back of the net. Orange were lucky not to go 2-0 down when they were left wide open at the back, again Dan pulling off an excellent save at close range.

Orange had come under some pressure during the first half but loooked like a different team as the second half got underway. Almost straight from thr kick off Luke was put through by Brad only to be denied by some excellent defending. kimberley, though, were still making chances and Dan, Macauley and Ben were in great form to fend off any attacks.

As Orange went looking for an equaliser the chances started to happen. Brad put Luke through after a dazzling run who shot just wide. The equaliser eventually came after some skilful dribbling by Macca twisting and turning defenders to feed a ball through to Luke who rifled it into the top corner. Kimberley did not give up and kept pressuring the Orange goal, again, Dan produced a great save when the ball had struck the bar and looked like rolling in.

Orange eventually sealed their place in the semi-final when Hayniey, who had had a great game, cleverly put the ball through to Luke who calmly slotted the ball beyond the keeper's reach.

Orange showed determination in fighting their way back into this game and this should help when they return to league action next week.
