Report:
Orange U10s got off to a flying start with a 7 – 0 win away at West Bridgford Cougars.
The game sparked to life in the first half after a nervous start from both sides in which the Cougars hit the bar.
Ryan Bradwin went close with a header just before half time. Bradley Woodcock scored the first goal after
an excellent solo run to take a half time lead.
The second half saw the Orange team parade their two new summer signings, Hayniey Donovan and
Harry Brownlee, who was unlucky not to score on his debut.
They took control of the match and a superb hat trick from Aaron Pickard,
goals from Luke Humphries after some excellent wing work and a scorching free kick from Elliott Goddard
ensured an Orange victory.
The Cougars rarely threatened and when they did excellent defending from Macauley Britton and Ben Young
snuffed out any chances. Dan Ditchfield showed what a talented young keeper he is commanding the goal
and his area and turning a looping shot over the bar to prevent any consolation goal for the opposition.
An excellent start to what promises to be an interesting season.
