Report:
Another weekend, the opposition West Bridgeford. But unfortunately the game followed a similar pattern.
Netherfield went 1-0 down when a moment of defensive confusion gifted West Bridgford the lead.
The colts had by far the majority of the chances in the first half, and Scott scored a deserved equaliser.
A cheeky header at the near post. But despite a string of chances Netherfield couldn’t take the lead.
The second half was far closer. WB took the lead after a poor clearance from a corner,
and added another a minute later. Joe gave Netherfield a faint hope when he ran onto a fine
through ball from Matthew, scoring a superb goal. But Netherfield missed a bucket full
of chances before WB scored a fourth. Steve produced a great save near the end but the
colts were unable to score and WB claimed a 4-2 victory.
Another well below par performance. But that said, if Netherfield had taken their chances like
WB it would have been a different result. But it was a dour showing, with very little passing,
or for that matter very little passion. Martin was by far Netherfields best player and had an
excellent game, but too many of his teammates played for themselves instead of the team.
