Right, about the glitching on the Saturn version..
Firstly, it only applies to the original release of the game, not the Otokuyo re-release.
Secondly, it only affects you if you're running the game on a US or PAL machine and using a converter cart. If you're using a Japanese machine, or a hardware modified US/PAL machine, you won't have any trouble with either version. I can personally confirm this, as I'm using a switched PAL machine.
Lastly, it doesn't really affect the gameplay that much anyway. Apparently the title screen is changed, some of the text is translated and some of it is just gobbledegook. There's also glitchy/corrupted graphics at the start of each level, and after beating the boss. (I'm going on other peoples reports for all of this, I've not seen it myself.)
As long as you dont press a button to skip the "take off" sequence at the start of each level, the main game is unaffected.
