Not long to go until DDP:DOJ on PS2..

God, I really suck at these two games..

To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the Saturn ports of both the Pachi games. You get so used to the Saturn churning out quality 2D shooter conversions, it takes you a bit by surprise when they aren't quite as good as you'd hoped.
That's not to say that they're bad games by any means, they both play great, its just that I was expecting the ports to be a little better.

DonPachi suffers from some pretty bad loading times, but you can live with them. The really bad thing about it is the sound samples, most of them are really scratchy, you end up turning the volume right down or it becomes painful. A shame, 'cause the announcer is quite funny sometimes - "Whoa! look at the size of that battleship! Keep your finger on the trigger rookie!"

DDP fares slightly better in the conversion process, but the large explosions are horribly pixellated..

I've yet to play the PS versions, but I've heard that the PS DDP is supposed to be better than the Saturn one. Could be worth a look..
