Editing and writing

Neil is the author of eight books (see Books), numerous academic papers (see Research: projects and publications), and a continuing stream of popular articles.

He is currently the Editor of Military History Monthly (previously titled Military Times), on which he works closely with Assistant Editor George Clode and Designer Justine Middleton.

He also contributes occasionally to both Current Archaeology and Current World Archaeology, having previously worked as Issue Editor and then Features Editor of the former.

He has also written for The Independent, The Times Higher Education Supplement, History Today, BBC History Magazine, British Archaeology, The Archaeologist, Minerva, Rescue News, and NADFAS Review.

He is a regular contribution to the Counterfire website (www.counterfire.org).
