Web Design Home           Do It Yourself Web Design          Get Neil To Design Your Site

School budgets are stretched tighter than ever before and many schools do not have the money to pay for a professionally made website. Many can't afford to get an amateur like myself to put one together. With that in mind this page will contain hints, guidance notes and tricks on creating your own site using Microsoft Front Page (all screen shots will come from the 2000 version). These will be Word documents that will use screenshots to explain a range of topics.

Each topic is listed below, but only the ones in blue are finished at the moment. I am writing these in my spare time so there may be a wait for a specific topic. If you want a specific topic that is not yet available just e-mail me and I'll try to put it at the top of my list.

TOPICS:

1. Starting to Plan your Website

2. Making your pages

3. Choosing a layout - UNFINSIHED

4. Hyperlinks within your site

5. Hyperlinks to external websites

6. Formatting text

7. Photographs of children

8. Inserting graphics

9. Plug-Ins

10. Animations (non-Flash)

11. Simple, but effective effects

12. Bookmarks within Pages

Some of the files I have created for Word may also be useful. Click here for the list.

To upload your website to the web server you should contact your ISP (or LEA if appropriate) for guidance and information on your password and server address. Front Page does have a publish feature but I personally prefer to use an additional piece of software for this.
