Free ICT in Maths Resources
During my NQT year I was shown an idea for computerised self marking Maths tests for the times tables. I have recently put together a set for the times tables, both multiplying and dividing, as well as blank versions for all four operations of number that allow you to put your own numbers into each test. These four files have the formulae set into them to make setting them up for your class much easier. Just click on the relevant links below to get each test downloaded. The tests require Microsoft Excel or a piece of software that will read xls format files. The files were written on Microsoft Excel 2000.

New for September 2003!
Here is a new activity that works in the same way as the older tables tests. This one is a number bonds activity. It comes with ten numbers for pupils to work out the number bonds to. Each one is marked in automatically by your computer. This activity is set up for Number Bonds to 100, but if you change the number 100 you can set it to any other number you wish. Similarly you can change the ten questions to test a different set of numbers. This activity is probably best downloaded onto individual machines within a school.

Some people have reported difficulties with the division files in that the division sign does not appear. Click here for a copy of the Math B font from Word. Copying it into you fonts directory should remove this problem for the cells, although the formula bar will still show a different symbol.

Self-Marking Table Squares
Each of the table squares is set up for the class teacher to enter the numbers he or she wants the children to multiply. The range goes from five numbers along either side to eleven numbers along each side.
