In PSHE I have worked on a range of topics including local and national government as aspects of citizenship. This has taken in a number of aspects of democracy including the setting up of a class council and the election of representatives to the school council.

I have also worked on units of work involving drugs and the environment.

I have found that parachutes can be useful for PSHE discussions as once the topic is in the open, the children can carefully let of steam in a range of ways. It also adds a sense of fun to the a subject area that can, at times, be very dry.
