Robogear is a sci-fi tabletop wargame which puts the players into the roles of two opposing factions: the Trade Protectorate and the Empire Polaris at the time of the 46th Century
This game is somewhat like a 28mm version of Mechwarrior - although troops are used in the game, the focus seems to be very much on the various different war machines that can be used by either faction, be they tracked vehicles, armoured walkers or fighter-bombers.
One of the big differences with this game over many other miniatures games is that the vehicles are equipped with weapons that actually fire! Most of the vehicles have spring-loaded guns/missiles that can be fired at the opposition, and these can be used to negate the use of dice - you simply fire at a vehicle/trooper, and if you hit it, it takes damage.
The game is originally Russian, and was marketed in Europe until recently by Airfix. However, with the demise of the Airfix company, the fate of Robogear is somewhat in the balance, although the figures are still available from many discount stores.
In the light of this, I have made available several of the resources that were originally downloadable from the now-defunct Airfix 'ROBOGEAR' website.
