Scenario - POW Rescue

It has been learned that a high ranking prisoner, who has knowledge vital to national security, is being transported between locations. A mission has been authorised to attempt to free him.

Opposing Forces

Attackers - 6 Special Forces (Elite), each armed with M16 assault rifles.
Defenders - 9 Guards (Professional), armed with AK47 assault rifles.

All troops class as being self-motivated.

Terrain

Rolling hills (see map), with plenty of scrub dotted around to provide cover. There is a wooden hut at the checkpoint. The ground either side of the road is soft, and is not suitable for wheeled vehicles.

Deployment

Attackers deploy at location 'A'.
The Defender may deploy 2 guards at location 'B'. The defender also has two trucks, which start the game off the board. One truck contains a driver and three guards, whilst the other contains a driver, two guards and the POW.
At the start of the game, the defender rolls 1D3. This indicates on what turn the trucks enter the board at location 'C'. The truck with the POW must be the second of the two trucks to enter the board.

Points

The attacker starts with 1000 points. The following amendments are made:

  • Each turn completed without the mission being completed: -10 Points
  • Each Attacker killed: -50 Points

Special Rules

The trucks must stop at the checkpoint.
The driver of each truck is armed with an AK47, and may disembark if required.
The trucks are soft-skinned vehicles, and do not count as hard cover unless a figure is hiding behind the engine or wheels.
