Caterham 7 Replica

Chassis

Rear chassis

The chassis is fairly representative of a real Caterham, with a spaceframe type structure.  I have used a large number of angle beams, and I am pleased with the results.  Packaging the differential, driveshafts and drive forward to the engine within the structure, whilst keeping a good degree of strength, was very difficult, but the end result is very strong, with lots of bracing.  The roll-over bar is a standard fitment to the Caterham.  The windscreen is attached to the top of the two double angle beams at the front of this section of chassis.

The second picture shows an early version of the car without any bodywork.  This gives a good impression of the chassis structure.
