I bought my first Mamod stationary engine in 1977 after saving up my first pay packets until I had enough to purchase it. Unfortunately after joining the Royal Navy and being away from home it was lost amongst other possessions never to be seen again.

I started collecting again in 2000 when my wife bought me the Mamod "Showman's" for my birthday and it has not stopped growing since.
