3D movies and pictures come to the Science Dome

With the help of a local expert we are now offering 3D pictures in most of our shows. See the power of 3D images to illustrate science and to stimulate young minds. 
3D images have been used in film for many years but many people do not know they are regularly used in science to illustrate and transfer scientific understanding in geology and mapmaking. NASA have used it extensively in Mars exploration.  
We have a whole series of photographs on space, planets and dinosaurs been produced recently by a local expert. See scary dinosaurs in 3D using 3D glasses (provided).

The two space programmes 'Space Exploration' and 'Solar System Tour' have 3D images of rockets, Mars landscapes and the planets.

The Dinosaur Show

The show includes dinosaur pictures in 3D using 3D glasses (provided) and also real dinosaur fossils to hold and examine. Our giant 180 degree projector is used to walk through a dinosaur landscape.

The show starts with time travel back to the Jurassic times and pictures of early earth landscapes. The programme then gives an interactive introduction to dinosaurs and talks about the fossils in the local Jurassic coast. 3D picture of dinosaurs are used in the show.
