The work of Richard Gee
My work represents a way of working which is initially arbitrary and instinctive with the desire for a natural evolution and the opportunity for surprise. My paintings, prints, collages and drawings are works of imagination, influenced by emotional and intellectual experiences which range from the ordinary and personal to bigger questions common to many.
Although the images are ultimately quite defined and give the impression of a specific narrative, it is also my intention that familiarity lives with a sense of the strange.
