About us

David and Louise work together at their home studio in Leicestershire, making and decorating colourful earthenware pottery and tiles.

David’s training included sculpture and ceramics, whereas Louise studied graphic design.  They both gained further experience in ceramics materials and production at the Fulham Pottery in London, where they met in 1980s.  After further periods of work in the ceramic industry, Louise and David decided to set up their own studio making brightly decorated pottery, strongly influenced by the vibrancy of nearby Brixton market.  This was sold at London markets in Greenwich and Merton Abbey.

By the mid 1990’s they started making pottery for shops and galleries as well as selling further afield at craft fairs and ceramic festivals. Towards the end of the 1990’s their work began to include more designs on tiles.

By 2000 they felt the need to expand their workshop, having outgrown their terraced house in Brixton, and so moved to Leicestershire, David’s old home.  Here, their work was again influenced by their surroundings, leading to countryside imagery in David’s decoration and Louise’s work with leaf pressings. 

2003 saw them on the move again down to Devon, Louise’s old home.  The beautiful landscape and seashore once more infiltrated their designs and colours. 

In 2006 a further move found them enjoying (?) a return to the East Midlands where they continue to produce their individual designs.

David and Louise make for selected galleries and craft shops as well as exhibiting at selected craft shows and ceramic festivals, including several events organised by Potfest..
