Hostas are looking nice and flowering. Stiletto is my favorite. The broom has come back with more flowers after being cut back in early summer. The fern in the corner is doing well in its wet patch.
A liberal sprinkling of anti-cat powder, to protect the new winter-flowering violets.
Crocosmus give a little late summer color.
A rogue nasturtium has turned up.
Agapanthus flowers are massive snowballs.
Tomatoes setting fruit but not quite red yet.
Despite some bare patches (to be filled in next year), we have silver birch, chard, and daisies.
The ferns look so nice, perhaps more are a good idea.
Sunflowers are tall, and the red multi-flowered ones are nice cut flowers. Tree-trunk sized stems makes them unlikely candidates for a repeat favorite next year.
Nick's carefully tended lawn seems to be making a comeback.
Melanie's amaryllis regularly light up our sitting room.
In the front, the largest sunflower draws comments from many a passing toddler.
And the rosemary in the windowbox seasons Nick's roast pork and lamb regularly.
