WAOC will be having the WAOC Punt-O on Sunday, 12 June, meeting at 2pm in the Lammas Land car park on Coe Fen.

This will be followed at 6pm by a barbecue at the Louth's: 20 Long Road, Cambridge.

Please bring meat etc. to barbecue - separate barbecue for vegetarians - and something to drink.
The club will provide strawberries so please e-mail Caroline ( caroline@waoc.org.uk ) if you are coming.

What is Punt-O?

If you haven't done it before, this is an event, which involves teams of 4-6 in each punt, and parallel runners and punters being 'out' from each team. It even involves some tactics, because some people may well be faster runners, whilst others are faster punters, so it need some thinking to play to people's strengths. It's a very enjoyable event and the more people we get involved the better - last year we had 4 punts of 6 people each and it made for great competition! And juniors are really welcome too!

If you want to read previous reports about this orienteering discipline then look at pages 13-16 of the August 2004 JabberWaoc or in the October 2002 JabberWaoc

Punt-O
Registration
14:00 at the Lammas Land car park
The cost will be basically that of map printing and hire of the punts - because some of us can get student rate punts from Scudamore's it shouldn't be more than £5-10, last year it worked out at about £6.

Please e-mail Blanka Sengerova if you are coming so that she can arrange punt hire and print maps
