Adventure Trail Race
The Adventure Trail Race is a
race for runners (rather than experienced orienteers) who fancy trying
something a bit different from another run pounding the pavement.
This welcoming and informal 10k race features a navigational challenge
along beautiful forest trails and paths.
There are electronic
checkpoints along the route to confirm that all runners complete the full
course. Do anticipate that you will need to pay close attention to
the map to navigate successfully to all the checkpoints - either that or
hope that the runner in front knows where they're going.
For those of you are familiar
with orienteering the standard of navigation required is typical for a
young junior course although the distance is of course far more
challenging, and is therefore suitable only for seniors and over 16s.
There is a mass start at 10:30.
