Organisers Comments

I was surprised at how difficult it appeared to be to understand LEAST and MOST orienteering. It was meant as an easy way to make you run a short loop around the start and then a big loop round the edge of the map.

Blanka pointed out that the penalty system I had originally suggested to invoke, if controls were vandalised, would enable her to stand at the start and record a zero time with just a 26min penalty. Although no controls did get removed I have imposed a more sever penalty of 4min for each missed control - which more or less ensures that people who found all controls score higher than those who missed some.

Hally gets a bonus of -5min for the nearest guess as to the origin of the control code alphabet with Serbian. It was in fact Macedonian - which is where Cyril thought up his "Cyrillic" alphabet in the first place. The K with an accent was the give away (so I'm told!).

Thanks to you all for taking part and well done Helen Gardner for the fastest time!

Roger
