Organisers Comments

Thanks to those of you who braved the weather and turned up. In fact the rain held off from when I put controls out until I had to collect them in so you didn't get wet - just a bit buffeted by the wind. Unfortunately soon after 7pm some kids decided it would be fun to remove some maps and or controls. I think about 3 were vandalised in some way. I had put the next 2 controls on each map section so that if a control did go missing at least the next control would be marked on the previous control's map section. However, the kids managed to remove two adjacent maps which ruined this plan. Thanks to Roger for going back out to guide competitors through this part of the course. I hope you weren't too messed up as a result - you certainly all got round. A couple of you had written the wrong code for one of the controls but as you managed to get to the next control ok I'll let you off. Perhaps you mis-read the code and / or you need to improve your handwriting! Thanks to Bruce for helping me collect controls at the end.
