Organisers CommentsOnce again Huntingdon proved to be to much for the hoi polloi, with only the creme de la creme of the local orienteering world daring to show their faces. I can't say that I blame anyone; though I say it myself the course planned set problems equal, nay indeed greater than any other course that I have set. I was especially proud of my control description "Bay", and I would be interested to hear if anyone knows of an international "O" symbol for this or my other control "porch". Congratulations are due to Tony and Hallie for being first among equals on their respective courses. Congrats are also due to Roger, Ian, and Steve for reaching all controls. I was pushed putting them out in 75 mins on my bike. A word on the scoring; the time allowed to complete the sprint"o" was 45 min and 75 min for the Endur"o". Points scored visiting controls was combined with the time competitors took to get back before their event deadline. This was then factored by the age gender weighting to give final score. My thanks go to Hallie for "o"cad facilities, Fred Northrop for maps and to NOC for (unkowingly) providing me with a weighting template. Marcus Misson |
